Meet East End Body in Balance owners Laura Darling and Patty Hendrix, P.T.
In 2005, this business duo had a dream to transform a lifeless 6,000 square foot building into an oasis of healing and art in
order to serve the entire community. Both were inspired by the untimely loss of family members to cancer and other
debilitating diseases. As they helped their families through their courageous battles, they realized the need for better care,
communication and education between all medical practitioners, caregivers and patients working through difficult times.
Their mission was to seek out and integrate the finest team of holistic and traditional healthcare practitioners in order to
serve one's entire well being.
Both women have served in the medical community in middle Tennessee for more than 25 years. They have a compassionate
approach and an artistic flare, which they used to create a friendly and inviting atmosphere in which to get your "body in balance." Both
women serve as building managers and coordinators. They not only designed the space to be structurally open and warm for
practitioners and clients, but also utilized their interior decorating skills to create a beautiful setting from floor to
ceiling. East End Body in Balance received the "Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Award" in 2006, and it has been
featured in numerous articles since the buildings inception in 2005.
Laura continues to work at Star Physical Therapy located in the building, and Patty provides physical therapy services
throughout Middle Tennessee. Both women also serve as consultants for other healthcare centers and providers not only through
their successful business and medical expertise, but also through their unique interior design and decorating talents.
